Beatles Meets Guitar Hero? Discussions Underway...

Is a Beatles-branded Guitar Hero in the works?  Sony/ATV Music Publishing chairman and chief executive Marty Bandier apparently likes the idea, and is pursuing the possibilities with Guitar Hero creator Activision.  "It's something we have talked about and something I'd like to pursue," Bandier recently told the Los Angeles Times.

Bandier oversees a considerable Beatles publishing catalog, and licensing activity is increasing.  Just recently, American Idol licensed Beatles songs for its contestants, a nice precursor to a possible Guitar Hero deal.  On the digital side, licensing for downloads and on-demand streams of recordings remains elusive, though a slow progression towards eventual licensing appears underway.

Just last month, Activision disclosed plans to unveil an Aerosmith-branded version of the game.
