The Gallaghers set for festival appearance

Oasis have announced their first gig of 2008, set to take place at Canada's Virgin Festival Toronto.

The band will join Foo Fighters as headliners of the event, held on September 6 and 7.

Other acts announced for Virgin Festival Toronto include Bloc Party, Spiritualized and The Pigeon Detectives.

The Canadian Virgin Festival was launched in 2006, and has since featured acts including Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, My Chemical Romance and Bjork.

Oasis, who will close the festival on September 7, are currently working on their seventh album in Los Angeles.

a good indication the album is finished. Noel wouldn't book a tour without finishing an album. He did it for SOTSOG and hasn't stopped saying it was mistake since
