Consider the artwork that accompanies Directions To See A Ghost, the new album due next Tuesday from Austin, Texas' Black Angels. Rare is it that a record's visuals so accurately describe that which is contained within.

Finnish songwriter Laura Naukkarinen, aka Lau Nau, created some of the most otherwordly, mesmerizing bits of abstracted avant-folk on her 2005 full-length debut Kuutarha. We've all consumed a few servings of "Pork And Beans," so it's about time additional Red-era tunes have popped up to provide Weezer fans nourishment. "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived (Variations on a Shaker Hymn)" is as epic as its title, though perhaps not as free of ornamentation as the Shakers might like it (see: the siren that rings throughout the first section, or the acoustic breakdown ... and, well, Rivers and his sex talk, Shakespeare references, and "I am the greatest" taunts. this is cool and all. . .but i just got VIP ticets to conan this wednesday...But will we finally know what's whispered in the Just video? :P...you know . . . i always hated that song....wow... this reminds me of the time I went to see Supergrass open for Pearl...boo to PAL format...Performer of the year, Bjork! What a shocker! :)...what a drag indeed. I loved their first album and was thrilled to see...OH NO!!!!!!
