I found this article through LastFM user Nancy Baym, who publishes a blog called Online Fandom. She has been studying the internet's effect on music community. Here is a link to a Powerpoint PDF presentation she made at a recent music conference. I found it quite interesting and a quick read.

BTW all the info is free...awesome, I've already got my pirate wench costume from our boatwarming...there's a free mp3 out on their official site today, too: Removed_by_a_moderator....Removed_by_a_moderator....being tall is an unfair point. though in my now older years i do tend to...this is cool and all. . .but i just got VIP ticets to conan this wednesday...But will we finally know what's whispered in the Just video? :P...
