Hot on the heels of Oscar night, we have the aforementioned soundtrack tune from LCD Soundsystem (of Your Favorite Album Of 2007, fame), which was commissioned for the forthcoming math-kids-counting-cards-in-Vegas Robert Luketic-directed film 21 starring Kevin Spacey (as a math prof), Kate Bosworth (as a "sexy" math teamer), Laurence Fishburne (the casino's enforcer), etc. The instrumental section sorta reminds us of Throbbing Gristle's "Hot On The Heels Of Love," so our opening cliché isn't entirely accidental.

Funny, just last night one of us was listening to the Smiths in a bar when someone asked if Morrissey still unbuttoned his shirt during his lives shows. The answer ... "Of course." And here's the James Dean-approved live video to prove it. In addition to Moz's chest, you'll catch his fancy microphone (and tambourine) work, his hardworking backup band of waiters, and the flower-toting fans who love to jump on stage and hug the man briefly, even if it means getting wiped by security.

Japanese post-rock combo Mono will release their first DVD January 22 on Temporary Residence. Titled The Sky Remains the Same as Ever, it's an almost two-hour chronicle of the recording of 2006's You Are There and the subsequent worldwide tours in support of the album. In terms of footage, this translates to a dozen live tunes amp;quot;and driving...lots and lots of driving,amp;quot; according to a press release. How Mono-tonous!
